For the past 20 years  I have been doing computer and end user support.

Due to health reasons I took early retirement and have been awaiting a heart transplant since March 2014!

•    Administrated all IT related services, resources including computer systems hardware, purchasing, installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, trouble-shooting and software first level end user computer hardware and software support.

•    Developed a computer replacement plan to provide faculty and staff with standardized computing hardware and software resources and assisted in proper usage of department computing resources.

•    Preformed IS Analysis to evaluate recommend, procure and deploy department computer, video and presentation needs for faculty, staff and grant requirements

•    Provided, end user support training and assistance with the use of Hardware, software, presentations assisted faculty and residents with presentation support including use of PowerPoint, image manipulation, and video editing.

•    Responsible for coordinating second level support between University Technology and Hospital information services.

•    Network Services: coordinated and configured Internet protocol IP  addresses for computers and printers, setup Dynamic naming services DNS for Servers, Printer and websites

•    Computer Center: coordinated setup, configured and maintained Active Directory (AD) (Maintained Department AD Organizational unit (OU), Manage Creation/deletion/modification of user, computers and group objects. {Successfully transferred responsibility to SOM technology services.}

•    File server Management Creation/deletion/modification of shared and individual file server folder access for end users controlling access via Active Directory group and user permission. {Successfully transferred responsibility to SOM technology services.}

•    Redesigned department website using visual studio, dot.net master pages to display a fluid CSS layout hosted on VCU Web servers

•    Program and Location support for Grants, offsite support for faculty with community affiliations.

•    Conference room support, assisted faculty, staff and visiting presenters with setup and training for use of department computer and projector resources

•    In addition to desktop support, specifications, buying configuration and deployment my position provides department Faculty and staff with support in all areas of technology to decrease learning curve and provide individuals and program areas with resources and support for improved focus and productivity.

•    Spinal cord Injury TBI Model System Grant : Created various databases for the Neuropsychology division and Brain Injury services to track patient studies through initial visit and multiple follow-ups.

•    Traumatic Brain injury SCI Model system Grant: Provided audio visual support for annual 2 day 3 room Spinal cord injury symposiums with breakout and registration including laptop, projector and printers.

•    Fellowship Program:  Provided program, meeting, symposiums audio visual and presentation support.

•    Responsible for coordinating second level support between University Technology and Hospital information services.

•    Provides system coordination, integration and second level support of department computing resources with SOM, VCU,  MCVH, MCVP, VAMC of existing resources and policies with the above entities as available or required

•    Setup, installed and configured Windows server with terminal services running FundWare Accounting software

•    CERSE - Center for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering: Procured, Installed configured and manage a Microsoft IIS WebServer running Adobe Cold Fusion web site.

•    Computing Services: coordinated and set up user email, ftp and website account and trouble shoot access problems

•    Manage fixed assets inventory In “Banner Forms” and disposal of retired inventory

•    Create Access Request Forms {ARF} for new user Active Directory accounts and access for various hospital information systems resources and IT related services.

•    Provided computer and user support the Rehabilitation and Research Center’s Spinal cord Injury {SCI,} Traumatic Brain injury {TBI} and General rehabilitation In-Patient units

•    Created, modified and maintained an Access databases patient documentation template system for patient record including history & physical, progress notes and changeover list successfully transferring responsibility for incorporation into HIS Cerner Medical Record Information system.

•    Residency program support of director, coordinator, and residents’ room computers and printer and integration of HIS supported and network printer successfully transferred responsibility to Hospital information systems.

•     Assisted Residents with research and presentation projects, ground round presentation and teleconferencing

•    Created custom reports using Cognos Impropmtu downloads of  raw data to CSV flat file for import into Microsoft Access via linked tables to generate cross reference reports and Excel for quick sorting and filter of data sub sets.

•    HIPPA and security liaison and hospital information systems computer LAE (local area expert)

•    Clinical support for EMG equipment laptop hardware and software, preformed upgrades and interfaced with Vendor and faculty. Coordinated network connections for Cerner access on EMG computers to facilitate transfer of EMG report into Cerner. Successfully pass control to MCVH clinical support services    

•    Clinical archived patient records management and maintenance VIA Access database to catalog onsite and offsite inventory and track age of record to determine destruction eligibility. Successfully pass control to MCVP clinical Record support services.

•    Initiated pilot program be the first department to migrate and integrate IT resource with the inception SOM technology services.
